GCC-Turkiye Economic Forum 2023 Concludes

Istanbul: The Turkish Gulf Economic Forum, which was held in the city of Istanbul, concluded this evening with the participation of the Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Nearly 500 businessmen, academics and lecturers from Turkey and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries participated in the conference. During the conference, 6 dialogue sessions were held that discussed economic and investment issues of interest to the Omani and Turkish sides.

Mohammed bin Nasser Al Maskari, head of the branch of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, said in a speech he delivered at the closing ceremony of the forum: The Omani participation in the forum was the most prominent; I participated with a delegation that included thirty entrepreneurs.

This participation comes within the Chamber’s strategy to organize visits for businessmen and trade delegations to various capitals to participate in exhibitions and forums and visit companies to learn about successful experiences with the aim of benefiting from international experiences in the field of business and investment.

For his part, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Saqr, Chairman of the Gulf Research Center – the organizing body of the forum – praised the participation of the delegation of the Sultanate of Oman in the forum, and said that the Omani delegation participating in this forum was the most present and strongly participated in the dialogue sessions that were held during the period of the forum, in light of the distinguished relations. Which links the Sultanate of Oman on the one hand with the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council on the other hand, and it has become important to strengthen economic relations during this stage.

The head of the Gulf Research Center added that the Turkish Gulf Economic Forum sought to explore more opportunities in order to expand the scope of these relations, by reviewing the opportunities and capabilities available to achieve development and economic interests, which helps to further rapprochement between the two sides, and strengthen the capabilities to achieve progress. And prosperity in a volatile global landscape.

On the other hand, entrepreneurs and business owners will continue their visit to Turkey until next Saturday, and the Chamber has prepared an extensive program that includes visiting factories, laboratories and stores to learn about the investment opportunity that serves the business sector in the Sultanate of Oman.
