Oman Tourism: Hotel Revenue Up 8.4% as Guest Numbers Drop

Muscat:  Total revenues of 3- to 5-star hotels in the Sultanate of Oman increased by 8.4 percent by the end of March 2026, reaching RO 85.423 million compared to RO 78.773 million during the same period in 2025.

Data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) indicated that the number of hotel guests declined by 5.9 percent to 571,970, compared to 607,476 guests خلال the same period last year.

Hotel occupancy rates also decreased from 59.3 percent at the end of March 2025 to 56.1 percent at the end of March 2026.

European guests accounted for the largest share, exceeding 206,000 visitors despite a decline of 11.4 percent. Omani guests recorded an increase of 3.1 percent to reach 176,707, while guests from Asia rose by 1.2 percent to 86,801.

Visitors from GCC countries totaled 32,412, marking a decrease of 13.8 percent. Guests from the Americas reached 21,663, while visitors from other Arab countries totaled 19,976, both recording slight declines.

Guests from Oceania decreased by 51.7 percent to 6,324, while visitors from Africa declined by 15.3 percent to 3,882.
