Muscat: The revenues of 3-5 star hotels increased by 91.7% by the end of November 2022 to stand at RO 161,262,000, according to the monthly statistical bulletin of tourism indicators issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
The number of 3-5 star hotels’ guests rose by 33.9% till the end of November 2022 to reach 1,449,511 guests compared to 1,082,921 guests by the corresponding period in 2021, while occupancy rate grew by 18.2%.
The number of guests from the GCC during the same period registered a significant surge by 418.8% from 27,985 guests by the end of November 2021 to 145,192 guests by the end of November 2022. They were followed by the European guests, who recorded an increase by 327% from 71,951 guests to 307,268 guests by the end of November 2022.
Meanwhile, the number of Omani guests at those hotels declined by 14.9% from 756,661 by the end of November 2021 to 643,859 till the end of November 2022.
The number of American guests at the end of November 2022 stood at 52,625 guests, constituting a rise by 185.1% compared to the corresponding period in 2021.
The number of guests from the African continent stood at 7,807, comprising a growth of 98.4% compared to the same period in 2021. The number of Asian guests also surged by 53% from 124,675 guests by the end of November 2021 to 190,700 guests by the end of November 2022.
