Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has strongly condemned and denounced the reported targeting of Mecca, reaffirming its rejection of any violation of the sanctity of holy sites or any threat to the safety of pilgrims.
In a statement issued today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Oman’s solidarity with the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its support for measures aimed at safeguarding its security, stability and sovereignty.
Oman called on countries of the region to strengthen cooperation and solidarity in addressing outstanding issues through bilateral, regional and multilateral channels in a manner that protects the rights of all peoples to security, stability and a safe and dignified life.
Oman has previously reaffirmed its solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its rejection of attacks targeting civilian and vital infrastructure, while calling for restraint, dialogue and political and diplomatic solutions to regional tensions.
