Oman’s Transport Minister Visits Grand Faw Port to Boost Ties with Iraq

Oman and Iraq Explore Logistics Partnership During Visit to Grand Faw Port

Basra: A delegation from the Sultanate of Oman, headed by Eng. Said bin Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, and a number of officials from the ministry, today visited the Grand Faw Port in Basra, Iraq.

The visit aims to enhance cooperation and strategic partnership between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Iraq in the transportation and logistics sectors.

During the visit, His Excellency and the accompanying delegation were briefed on a number of projects currently being implemented at the Grand Faw Port, including marine docks, a navigation channel, shipyards, and industrial zones currently being built as annexes to the port. Discussions were also held on enhancing trade exchange and integration between Omani and Iraqi ports.
