Supervisory Committee of Eleventh Five-Year Development Plan Holds First Meeting

Muscat: The Supervisory Committee for the 11th Five-Year Development Plan (2026-2030) today held its first meeting in Muscat.

The meeting was chaired by Dr. Said Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the Committee.

The meeting was held as part of preparations for Oman Vision 2040’s second executive plan. It reviewed the plan’s governance methods, the technical teams’ mechanism of functioning and the timetable.

Fourteen technical teams were formed. They comprise 220 members who possess national expertise and professional competencies. The teams represent government, security, military, academic, private and civil society institutions.

The meeting discussed the tasks and responsibilities entrusted to the committee and measures to ensure consistency between plans of the medium-term and the long-term vision.

The meeting laid emphasis on coordination among the relevant parties in the ministries concerned and in Oman governorates.

The committee’s responsibilities include preparing the general framework for the 11 Five-Year Development Plan and proposing the economic and financial framework, the investment programme, policies and strategies to achieve the plan’s desired objectives. – ONA
