    • Upper air trough likely to affect Oman from tomorrow

    Oman Meteorology on Friday issues weather report (1) during 8th to 11th of April 2023 

    In a statement Oman Meteorology  said: The latest weather updates and analysis of the National Multi Hazard Early Warning Center indicate that an upper air trough is likely to affect the Sultanate of Oman starting from Saturday evening 8th of April 2023 until Tuesday 11th of April 2023.

    Clouds advection and isolated rain, occasional thundershowers associated with down drafts, are expected over the governorates of Dhofar and Al Wusta starting from Saturday evening. The impact will extend to cover North Al Sharqiya and South Al Sharqiya governorate, and Al Hajir Mountains and adjoining areas with isolated rain. The peak of the impact is expected on Sunday over the governorates of Dhofar and Al Wusta 

    Expected Impacts:

    Isolated rainfall, occasionally thundershowers, which may cause wadies to flow.

    Strong downdraft with speed ranging between 15 to 35 kt (28-64km/h) 

    Civil Aviation Authority advices all to take precaution during rainfall and wadies flow and to check visibility and sea state before sailing and follow the issued weather bulletins and reports.
