Muscat: The 29th World Travel Awards Grand Final Gala Ceremony 2022 kicks off today in Muscat

The leaders of the Travel and Tourism sector from around the world will be awarded in a special ceremony, held under the patronage of His Excellency Salim bin Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism.

I am pleased to welcome you to the Grand Final Gala Ceremony of the 29th World Travel Awards, which we are honoured to host in the Sultanate of Oman for the second time.

The travel and tourism industry is one of the most prominent economic sectors in which countries from around the world compete. As a result, Oman Vision 2040 has identified this industry as one of the most important sectors that must be focused on in the coming years.

Located towards the centre of the globe, Oman is less than 7 hours away from more than 70% of the world’s population, making it an important international transportation hub.

Despite the enormous challenges faced by the travel and tourism industry over the past few years, we continued to work day and night to achieve our goals, and have succeeded in putting our beautiful country back on the map of the best recommended destinations that everyone must visit.
