Oil Prices Edge Higher Following Previous Session Gains
Singapore: Oil prices edged higher today, extending gains from the previous trading session amid cautious optimism in global energy markets.
Brent crude futures rose by 6 cents, or 0.09 percent, to $64.19 per barrel.
US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude for February delivery increased by 9 cents, or 0.15 percent, to $59.53 per barrel. The February contract is set to expire tomorrow, Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the more actively traded March WTI contract gained 5 cents, or 0.08 percent, to $59.39 per barrel.
Market movements reflected a balance between supply considerations and broader economic and geopolitical developments influencing energy demand expectations.
