    US Launches New Strikes on Iranian Military Targets

    Washington:- Tensions between the United States and Iran escalated today following a second consecutive day of military strikes across the Middle East.

    US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the completion of a new round of overnight strikes targeting Iranian military sites.

    In a statement, CENTCOM said the operation targeted 90 military sites along Iran’s coastline in response to attacks on commercial vessels transiting the region.

    According to the statement, the strikes targeted air defence systems, coastal surveillance assets, missile and drone storage facilities, naval capabilities and military logistics infrastructure.

    CENTCOM said its forces had struck 80 Iranian military targets the previous day, including more than 60 small vessels belonging to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

    Iranian media reported that three people were killed and several others injured in a US strike near the southwestern city of Ahvaz.

    Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it had targeted a number of sites in the region in response to the latest US strikes, according to a statement carried by Iranian state television.
