UAE Bars Non-Citizens from Using Emirati Dialect on Media Platforms

The United Arab Emirates adopted a new policy that bans non-Emiratis from using the Emirati dialect while speaking to local media.

The Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates took this step based on a recommendation to allow UAE citizens only to use the local dialect in the media, and that in a bid to protect the Emirati dialect from distortion, local news outlets reported.
